Arun Vijay (born November 19, 1977), originally Arun Kumar, is an Indian film actor who predominantly works in Tamil films. He also appeared in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films. Since 1995, he has worked in the film industry. In the Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industries, he is known for his villainous roles in Yennai Arindhaal, Bruce Lee: The Fighter, and Chakravyuha.
Actor Vijayakumar and his first wife Muthukannu had an only child, Arun Vijay. He attended Egmore's Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School. After finishing high school, he enrolled in Loyola College to pursue his higher education.
Kavitha, who has only appeared in one film, Coolie, and Anitha are his two older sisters.
Vijay has wanted to be an actor since he was a child. Observing his father on set during film shootings piqued his attention. When Vijay was in tenth grade, he began receiving film offers, but his father insisted that he finish his education before performing in films.
